In May I wen to Ferguson to photograph, with images of the riots from the nightly news still vivid. I found something very different. On the yellow line where Michael Brown dies was a makeshift memorial made of hundreds of stuffed animals, flowers and notes. I created a 360 degree, walk-in panoramic photo that let people step into Ferguson.

In May I exhibited some new work titled, “Un-shredded,” at EyeWash at Schema Projects. I “acquired” a bag of shredded paper that was left outside for recycling by the police and reassembled parts of it. Even the privacy of the police isn’t guaranteed.

Exhibit and Talk in Tulsa

Uncategorized

I jus returned from Tulsa, where photographs of my book were exhibited at Tulsa Community College and I was a resident artist for the week. I had a great time guest lecturing in a photo class, and taking a group of students and local artists around a deserted section of Tulsa for a photo field trip. Then to top it off I gave a talk at the Woody Guthrie Center. And then left before the temperature hit the 90s!

My opening remarks at the reception. I wasn’t used to not showing photographs and just having to talk (photo courtesy of Tulsa Community College).
