“In Lieu of Flowers,” 2009

Installed at the New Jersey School of Architecture in Newark. They were about to demolish the Westinghouse Plant, where the second radio station in the country was located. For an exhibition about the building, I went into the archives of the Newark Star Ledger and researched the obituaries of people that had once worked there. I then organized them by inventors, executives, war heroes, community leaders, and artists. I then printed on long strips of newsprint and that cascaded down the central stairs between two buildings.
